Privacy of the Amanah app
This is a convenience translation. Only the German version is legally binding: German version of the Amanah app privacy policy.
This policy applies to the Amanah iPhone app. In short: Amanah stores your entries only on your iPhone. There is no account. The developer receives no data from you, unless Apple, with your permission, makes aggregated usage figures and crash reports available to him.
Controller
The controller is Denis Rastoder, Linthblick 14, 8725 Ernetschwil, Switzerland, developer and owner of the app.
Email: de.rastoder@hotmail.com, WhatsApp: +41 76 341 17 90.
Your entries stay on your iPhone
What you enter in Amanah, for example prayers, Qur’an progress, habits, goals, tasks, appointments, finances, nutrition and reflections, the app stores only on your iPhone. This data is not sent to the developer or to other providers.
There is no account and no login.
If you delete the app, this data is deleted from your iPhone, except in existing backups.
Amanah Coach
According to the developer, the Amanah Coach works only with the data on your iPhone and sends it to no service outside the device.
Reminders and notifications
The app creates reminders and notifications on your iPhone from your settings. You can switch them off at any time in the iOS settings.
Location
For location-based features the app uses the iOS location services. iOS asks for your permission beforehand, and you can change it at any time in the iOS settings. Your settings and Apple’s privacy policy apply to location. According to the developer, the app collects no data; your location is not sent to the developer.
Qur’an translation
For the German translation of the Qur’an (Bubenheim translation), the app loads texts from AlQuran Cloud (api.alquran.cloud), a freely accessible service of the Islamic Network project.
With this request, the service receives the usual technical connection data, in particular your IP address, as well as the information on which text is being loaded. What you enter in the app is not sent.
Where AlQuran Cloud processes requests and how long it keeps connection data is not stated in the service’s terms; the developer therefore does not know the country either. It may be a country outside Switzerland and the EU for which no adequate level of data protection is recognised; no special safeguards exist. The request is necessary so that the app can show you the chosen translation, that is, for the performance of the contract of use (Art. 17(1)(b) FADP, Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). If you do not want this, do not use the translation.
Where the GDPR applies, the request is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Subscriptions and purchases
You buy Premium, the annual subscription and Pro Lifetime through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. The developer receives no payment data from you.
No advertising, no analytics services
According to the developer, the app shows no advertising and contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services.
App Store and Apple
You download the app via Apple’s App Store. Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to this.
Apple makes aggregated usage figures and crash reports available to developers only if you have allowed this in the iOS settings (“Share with App Developers”).
If you back up your device with iCloud or on a computer, the app’s data may be part of that backup. Your settings and Apple’s terms apply to this.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection you have the right of access (Art. 25 FADP), to rectification and erasure (Art. 32 FADP) and can object to processing (Art. 30(2)(b) FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, you have the rights under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR.
Because the developer stores no data from you, he can generally not hand any over either. You manage your entries yourself in the app.
If you have questions, contact the developer by email. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, EDÖB): FDPIC, Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch (opens in a new window). Where the GDPR applies, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the EU (Art. 77 GDPR).
Changes
If the handling of data in the app changes, this policy will be amended. The version published here applies.
